Why we Developed Our Custom Magazines

When we formed our dental marketing company in 2007, we knew we needed a marketing medium that would reach all the target demographics for larger cases. Like all other dental marketing companies we made websites and did digital marketing.

However, we wanted something unique, a marketing medium that would make our clients stand out from the crowd. We wanted to do proactive marketing that didn't wait for people to search and arrive on the client's website.

Ages 18-29: 1%. 30-49: 2%. 50-64: 4%. 65+: 25% There are so many types of audiences that are difficult to reach online, such as the older demographic, the procrastinators, and people who just have no idea of the solutions there are for their dental situation, or that there is a dental office they can trust.

According to a Pew Research study conducted in April 2021, a whopping 27% of older US adults say they do not use the internet at all, and look to other sources for information on services they need.

Direct Mail Isn’t Dead!

The most obvious medium was direct mail. One of the most common questions we get from dentists is “Isn’t direct mail dead?” The simple answer is “no” (which is why you see it in your mailbox all the time). However, most direct mail such as postcards, brochures and coupons won’t work for dentists unless they give large discounts or offer free services.

My partner and I are from corporate and agency marketing backgrounds. We studied and researched what would work for dentists, and developed our custom magazine program. We took the successful disciplines of large corporate marketing and adapted them for dental marketing.
